Invasion of Privacy

So, remember when I was super excited about my new gym membership? Like, 2 weeks ago? Let's just say things have changed a bit over the last week...

Last Tuesday, after work, I headed to the gym.  I got there around 5:30.  My training session wasn't until 7:00 which means I had plenty of time to spare.  I took my time changing and putting my things in my locker (I take everyone out of my bag: hairbrush, clean clothes for afterwards, bathing suit for post-workout sauna/jacuzzi sesh, etc.)

There was a girl frantic in the locker room who asked if a certain locker was mine. Which it wasn't. I pointed to my locker which cannot be mistake for any other since I had a pink breast cancer awareness lock.  I headed up stairs to walk on the treadmill for an hour before training.  That same girl was walking around asking each woman if they had a lock in the women's locker room.  I reminded her that she already asked me.. you know, pink lock... she remembered and moved on to the woman next to me.

With 5 minutes left until I had to meet my trainer, I walked back to the locker room to put away my iPod. SURPRISE! There was a paper on the locker that I had been using that said "Please see the front desk".  My locker was the ONLY ONE with this paper.

I went up to the front desk to find out that the girl had told them she left something in the locker was using and long story short, they had cut the lock off my locker for her.  My things were placed in a plastic trash bag and was left for me to pick up at the front desk.

I was FURIOUS. It was time to meet my trainer.  I used my frustration to push me harder through the workout.  Once I was finished (the time I would normally relax and shower) I got my stuff from the front desk and called Derek and cried.

I'm a private girl. I'm not the one walking around naked in the locker room.  I'm shy and hope no one is watching me at the gym. It took years for me to get a membership and now I just feel violated.

I wish they had made any effort to ask the girl if she knew who's locker it was, or made an effort to find the owner before cutting the lock.  I should have been present.  Its against their policy.  Its been over a week and I'm still waiting to see how they are going to make things better... and I'm not sure they can.

The Friends You Can Fart Around

There is nothing more amazing than true friends. The ones you can be yourself around no matter what.  The ones that can change your bad day into the best day all week.

I'm so lucky to have a great group of friends.  Friends who I can be 100% myself with. Ones that I may not see for weeks, months, or years at a time but when we are together it seems like we were never apart.  Just thinking about them makes me giggle and smile.

I'm also making new friends.  Which is a scary thought.  As we grow up and get new jobs, meet new people, and hang out with different couples, our circle of friends grows.  It's hard to find trustworthy people.  This past year has brought so many new and different people into my life.  Thinking about these new friends makes me excited.  More people to share life with.  More friends to share secrets with, laugh with, and call/text for support.  I'm excited to get to the "farting" stage and get so excited at the thought of these people being in my life for the long run.

Sometimes Excuses Are Necessary...

Its okay...

that I haven't put my clean laundry away.... because I'll probably wear most of it this week anyways, right?

that I haven't packed for my weekend in Palm Springs... because there is always tomorrow (ugh I hate packing and I miss Derek already!)

that I ate cookies yesterday (and maybe ice cream after dinner) ... because I go to the gym now (fine, that one is not okay at all... I need self control!!!)

that I bought 2 scarfs at Zara yesterday even though its in the 80s and sunny and refuses to be cold in L.A.... because no matter what Derek says these two are WAY different than the other 2930270359702 scarfs in my closet.

that today is Monday... because this week Monday is the new Wednesday (2 1/2 day week for me.. sorry I'm not sorry)

Sore Is The New Sexy

I did it! This past weekend I got a gym membership! I've been feeling like a cow for way too long.

Does anyone else feel like a lost puppy at the gym?  No, just me?

Being in a gym, alone, with no guidance, is intimidating.  Outside of cardio I have no idea what I'm doing.

That's where Keith comes in.  He's my new trainer. I hope he kicks my butt because this girl is ready to get into the best shape of her life!  See you Saturday, Keith!

Peaks of the Week

Its Thursday, my loves, and I am SO ready for the weekend. Its been a stressful week at work and I've been spending my nights in the gym (Derek and I finally got memberships last weekend!) which has made me feel a bit out of place...
I'm realizing more how important it is to focus on the positive things going on rather than getting upset and stressed about the million awful things i'm dealing with.

Peaks of this Week:
* My new Gym Membership (started Saturday and been 4 times...great start!)
*I decided to DIY and fell in LOVE with making headbands (post coming soon!)
*Next week is a short week before I head to Palm Springs with my Dad
*Its been in the 80's this week... Isn't it winter?
*Yesterday was a pay day. Which is always the best day. Shopping anyone?

Take Time To Do What Makes You Happy

I'm so happy its FRIDAY! I'm ready for the weekend.
I found the cure for my bad week.  Last night, I had a girls night with one of my best friends, Jamie.
Of course, after an hour of chatting over dinner, we decided getting Yogurtland and walking around Michaels would be a good idea (going to Michaels is always a good idea...)
I may have bought a million things I absolutely have to have in my life don't need...But we also decided to try something new, girly, and exciting.
DIY Projects coming soon!

P.S. Don't forget to enter and spread the word about the $600 Giveaway!!!

Is it Friday yet?

This week so far has just been a downer.
Um, hello 2014, what happened to being amazingly perfect?
This week has been so stressful I've literally tried all the tricks in the book to get out of my funk:
Guilty pleasure TV shows, wine, pink lipsticks, more wine, cooking yummy dinners, online shopping (maybe a little too much), getting in bed earlier, and even more wine.

What's your favorite cure for a bad week? Meow.
