Christmas // Palm Springs // Emergency Room // Oh My..

Merry (belated) Christmas! Derek and I spent Christmas week in Palm Springs with his family! Christmas was NOT a merry one for us this year.  Somehow, 8 out of 10 of us ended up in the Emergency Room on Christmas day with a bad Stomach Virus.  The nurses could not even believe it was happening when we were coming in to the ER one after another between Tuesday night and Thursday morning.  Derek was one of the only 2 that didn't get sick!

We did our best to recover the trip with a trip to The Living Desert and a night at the Casino.

I'm still feeling sick and seriously feel like someone is punching my stomach every time I eat but hopefully this will be completely gone by New Years Eve.

It's been an adventure. A fun, crazy, exciting, sometimes hard, loving, adventure and there is no one else I'd rather be going on this adventure with.

Cheers to 4 and many many more!

Five on Friday

ONE
TWO
Its Friday, causal day at the office, payday, and sunny/70 degrees outside.
Its a good day.

THREE
One week until Derek's sister and her husband (Brandi blogs here) are coming home to visit from Italy for the Holidays! We are celebrating with a week long vacation in Palm Springs. I couldn't be more excited to spend time with them and maybe even do a little planning for when D and I visit them in Italy in July!

FOUR
I'm getting my hair done tomorrow. Blonde? Brown? Ughh such decision.
When I go dark I get so many compliments and I just feel pretty. Not to mention my eyes are like, BAM!
I'm naturally (and my "naturally" I mean I haven't really seen my hair uncolored since I started highlighting in the 7th grade, but my roots are blonde) a dirty blonde. My mom loves me blonde. My family loves to tell me "I look better blonde". Rude. I guess you can't please everyone!

Thanksgiving

I think I'm still recovering from all the turkey I ate last week.  Derek and I started out the morning with my family.  Tradition in my house is a movie on Thanksgiving.  This year, Derek and I saw Hunger Games with my Dad while my mom and sisters took care of the meal.
We ate with my family around 2 and then head out to spend the night with his family.
Their tradition: Bacon.Wrapped.Turkey
Yes, you read that correctly. The turkey is wrapped in BACON! (see below. be jealous.)

I'm so thankful to have both of our families.
(and I'm thankful for bacon wrapped turkey....)

Scarf/Jeans: Gap
Shirt: Nordstrom

I hope you all had an AMAZING Thanksgiving.
Its already December?! Whaaaat! Crazy.

Happy Thanksgivukkah

Happy Thanksgiving & Happy Hanukkah!

Life is hard sometimes a lot of the time.  Its been a crazy year with finding a new job, my momma drama, ending friendships and beginning new ones, and life in general kicking me in the butt on the daily.  Thanksgiving kicks off the holiday season and reminds me to be thankful for everything good in my life; no matter how big or small. Its easy to forget the good when life gets hard.

A Few Things I'm Thankful For:

My Family - I'm lucky to have such an amazing supportive group of people (some related and some not; but they are still family)

My Friends - I may be biased but I seriously have the best friends. Old and New. I love them all and would not trade them for anything.

My Squishy (aka. Derek) - He is my squishy and he will always be my squishy.

Having a Job - I'm finally at a place I feel welcome, appreciated, and happy. I love my job. I'm grateful to have a job.

Health - Everyone is healthy. Finally! Fingers crossed for no hospital visits in 2014!

Home - Derek and I have the best little h.o.m.e.(and after months of living together he FINALLY hung my mirror... its starting to feel like "ours")

My Blog - I love this little space of mine. It's nice to have a place to be able to express feelings, share what I'm loving, connect with other bloggers (which I would love to do more of)

Country Music - It makes my life complete.  It can change my mood in an instant. I'd be lost without my country music.

What you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

Noah's 3rd Birthday // First Haircut

Happy 3rd Birthday to my little bubbah, Noah!

Sunday we celebrated his 3rd birthday. In the jewish tradition (at least for the orthodox), boys don't cut their hair until their 3rd birthday.  Coming from a religious family, my sister decided to go with this tradition for her boys.  Everyone gets the chance to cut a piece of hair (and in Noah's case we let him cut a piece of his daddy's hair in return). Then we had my awesome hairdresser fix it up.

Noah's perfectly and naturally ombre with a little curl at the bottom that makes all the girls jealous (seriously, the best hair) is gone! (somehow I didn't end up with "after" haircut photos... i'm still in denial that we cut it...)

Gifts Under $50

Holidays are right around the corner and its time to start thinking of the perfect gifts! Each year on Thanksgiving, Derek's family picks a "Secret Santa". We get the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas to find the perfect gift. We have to spend at least $50 (to keep it fair), no gift cards (to keep it personal), and no significant others (because everyone already gets to buy their significant other something special for the holiday)!  So here is a list, His & Hers, of gifts all under $50!
